How does this work + what's "widening access"?

For each course, we compare your top Highers (and Advanced Highers) against the course's offer. If you meet or exceed each grade in the offer, you qualify.

Standard offer = the normal entry requirement. Widening access = a lower offer Scottish unis grant to applicants from contextual backgrounds (state school in deprived postcode, first generation to uni, care experienced, etc.). If that's not you, focus on the standard tier.

Subject prerequisites: we substring-check the course's essential-subject text against your subjects. If you might be missing a required subject, the course gets a "Check prereqs" badge — read the full prereq line and decide for yourself.

Which universities: ten of them — Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Heriot-Watt, QMU, Robert Gordon, St Andrews, Stirling and Strathclyde. Not all of Scotland's: Edinburgh Napier, Glasgow Caledonian, Abertay, the West of Scotland and the Highlands and Islands are not in the data yet, so a course at one of those will not appear here at all.

Requirements are scraped from each university's own undergraduate pages, last checked May 2026. Always confirm on the official course page before applying — requirements change mid-cycle and nothing here is an offer.
